Healthy Fish Choices: Promoting healthy fish consumption for women and children

Healthy Fish Choices is an on-line continuing education course for healthcare providers that presents the latest evidence about the benefits and risks of fish consumption during pregnancy and early childhood. It’s designed to help doctors and nurse midwives answer questions such as these:

Healthy Fish

“I’m confused about fish. I thought it was good for me but then I heard that it has mercury that could harm my baby.”

“My 3-year-old son loves tuna and eats it every day. Is that a problem?”

“Am I supposed to be taking fish oil supplements?”

The Healthy Fish Choices course is currently undergoing testing before being offered to healthcare providers including pediatricians, obstetricians, family physicians and nurse midwives.
